Biographical Statement
Sheila Tryon is a Lecturer with the IU Columbus School of Nursing and has been part of the IU Columbus community since August 2023. She began her nursing career after graduating from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis in 1992.
Before joining IU Columbus, Professor Tryon served as an adjunct clinical professor at Harrison College and Ivy Tech Community College and later as a Lecturer at Chamberlain University. She has worked in a variety of roles as a registered nurse in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Kentucky, Florida, Tennessee, and Columbus, Indiana.
Professor Tryon values the opportunity to teach nursing students in a small university setting, where faculty can support more individualized learning. She is also active in the Bartholomew County community through volunteer service.
